●A novel procedure for preparation and synthesis of polypyrrole (Ppy) nanoparticles.●A novel Janus Ppy-GAC nanocomposite was synthesised using the Ppy nanoparticles.●Strong adhesion force amounting to 10.8 nN was observed between Ppy and GAC.
