Current State of the Art in Endovascular Stroke Treatment

Mechanical thrombectomy has been shown to be a powerful and highly effective procedure that improves clinical outcomes in patients with AIS with ELVO. Further studies are identifying additional patients that may benefit from this procedure, including patients with large infarcts and occlusions of medium and distal intracranial vessels. As iterative catheter and device development continues, the safety and efficacy of mechanical thrombectomy will continue to improve and benefit future patients with stroke.
