Development and psychometric testing of learning immersion scale in clinical simulation: A methodological study

•Measures of immersion during simulation learning are needed to identify factors associated with successful learning.•The LISS developed in this study measures comprehensive aspects of learning immersion in clinical simulation.•The LISS is concise with 16 items and exhibits good psychometric properties.•This tool may help create an immersive simulation and instigate strategies to optimize engagement.
