The Shorter Is Better movement: past, present, future.
Clinical microbiology and infection : the official publication of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases(2023)
摘要
Experts have written that medical practice takes 10 to 20 years to evolve based on new data [1]. Right on cue, the Shorter Is Better movement is poised to transform clinical practice, 14 years after it was first elaborated [2], and 6 years after it was branded [3]. In the intervening period, many dozens of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have reaffirmed the similar efficacy and superior safety of shorter courses of antibiotic regimens for many types of bacterial infections [4–6].
