Flexible superhydrophobic ZnO coating harvesting antibacterial and washable properties

•A superhydrophobic coating was fabricated conveniently via improved “printing process” by hydrophobic interaction.•The coating possesses great water impact resistance owing to dense self-assembly of nano ZnO particles.•The coating exhibits an excellent antibacterial property and underwater stability.•The flexibility and multifunction of the coating can be competent in medical institutions in despite of sticky contaminants.
