Alcohol consumption, heavy episodic drinking and the perpetration of antisocial behaviours in Australia

•Both measures of alcohol consumption correlate to an increased risk of antisocial behaviour (ASB) perpetration.•The risk of ASB perpetration varied between age groups.•The younger and unmarried respondents were more likely to report perpetrating ASB.•No evidence that socio-economically disadvantaged groups are more prone to perpetrate ASB.•There were some declines in the proportion of alcohol related ASB in the latest survey.
