Network pharmacology-based strategy to investigate pharmacological mechanisms of Andrographolide for treatment of vascular cognitive impairment

•We screened out Andro targeting genes that acted on vascular cognitive impairment through network pharmacology, and validated them using a vascular cognitive impairment animal model.•Andro could ameliorate neuronal damage, reduce neuroinflammation and rescue cognitive impairment in the vascular cognitive impairment model.•These findings provide bioinformatics and experimental data for further translational study on the treatment of vascular cognitive impairment by Andro.
