Model order reduction of thermo-mechanical coupling flexible multibody dynamics via free-interface component mode synthesis method

•A model order reduction method for the thermo-mechanical coupling system is proposed.•The free-interface component mode synthesis method is used to reduce the DOF.•Modal reduction method for the thermal coordinate is proposed.•The strategy for solving the reduced dynamic and heat transfer equations simultaneously is developed.
