New method for the determination of endocrine disrupting chemicals in Mediterranean mussel (Mytilus galloprovincialis) using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry

•Multiclass endocrine disruptors (EDCs) are determined in Mediterranean mussel samples.•The method involves ultrasound-assisted extraction followed by a d-SPE clean up step.•UHPLC-MS/MS is proposed as analytical technique for the analysis of EDCs.•Pollutants have been found in the analyzed natural samples at relevant amounts.•The application of the method revealed EDC (bio)accumulation in this aquatic species.
