Occurrence and mechanism of uranium enrichment with a unique eolian sedimental environment in the Pengyang uranium deposit, Ordos Basin

•The active uranium in the ore increased notably, and Pengyang deposit is suitable for in situ leaching mining.•The adsorption, catalysis, reduction and precipitation of altered minerals promoted the enrichment of uranium.•Biological process is of great significance to the enrichment and precipitation of uranium.
