摘要

•Carbon exchange for irrigated and rainfed crops are measured using eddy covariance.•Annual carbon balance shows the rainfed field losing more carbon after harvest.•We identify a trade-off in carbon emissions/fixation with maize and intercropped Brachiara.•The choice of crop and irrigation can affect carbon exchange in the Cerrado.
