摘要
•Walking with the subject-specific foot progression angle (SSFPA) can decrease knee adduction moment in people with osteoarthritis. The most decrease was recorded in 10° toe-in.•Walking with SSFPA decreased the muscle activity of the knee's lateral side, which was probably related to reduced loading on the medial knee compartment.•Gait retaining (30 min) with SSFPA increased the lateral and medial co-contraction index, possibly due to a stiffening strategy to control the knee joint stability.
