coppeCosenzaR: A hierarchical decision model

This paper presents an R package that implements the Coppe-Cosenza fuzzy model. This model ranks a set of industrial facility locations based on two key factors: the inputs necessary to operate each industrial facility and the resources available at each location. This flexible and robust model has been successfully applied in significant real-world problems, but until now it has lacked computational implementation. The model enables decision-makers to include veto power and to assess several industrial facility projects against existing options simultaneously. Using simple linguistic variables, it provides decision-makers with an intuitive framework that facilitates the elicitation of their subjective preferences. The model can also be used in other contexts, including team selection and educational assessment. The coppeCosenzaR package enables the use of this model by a broader public, improving the capacity of handling more complex problems with several variables and making all the process less error-prone.
