Abstract
•Kidney damage remains significant complication of hematopoietic cell transplant affecting the mortality of transplant recipients.•Chronic graft-vs-host disease is common, and serious complication of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant occurs in about 60% to 80% of patients.•A total of 30% to 60% of patients with acute graft-vs-host disease progressed to chronic disease, with about 20% requiring lifelong immunosuppressive therapy that had toxic effects on kidney function.•It is very important to consider a comprehensive approach to develop and update treatment regimens and constantly monitor drug levels.
