Abstract
n all optical 2 × 4 decoder with better output efficiency plays a substantial role in all optical computing systems and optical networks. In this study, we provide and investigate a new type of optical 2 × 4 decoder based on kerr effect and threshold switching procedure in hexagonal lattice photonic crystal dielectric rods. The two dimensional numerical methods such as Plane wave expansion (2D PWE) and Finite difference time domain (2D FDTD) were used for studying the optical properties of the proposed structure. The contrast ratio and area of proposed structure are 9.32 dB and 561 μ m^2 , which makes it appropriate for all Optical integrated circuits (OICs).
