Abstract
The article presents the results concerning the influence of zinc sulfated polysaccharides (PSSZn) obtained from cyanobacterium Arthrospira platensis CNMNCB02 (spirulina) on the viability of Streptomyces canosus CNMN-Ac-02 strain after lyophilization and long-term storage. Supplementing the protective medium containing gelatin (2.5%) and glucose (7.5%) with PSSZn in the concentrations of 1.0; 5.0; 20.0; 30.0; and 50.0%/V increased the viability of the culture by 13.6-39.0% compared to control. The minimum morbidity and the high viability of 95.3-118.0% of the samples with PSSZn after one year of storage showed the efficiency of the latter in the protection and long-term storage of the strain. Significant difference in the viability of samples rehydrated with distilled water and those with the PSSZn solution in the concentrations of 0.1; 0.5; 5.0%/V revealed the possibility of using the PSSZn extract for revitalization of lyophilized strain
