摘要
Objective: Hydrogen sulphide (H2S) is a potent, gaseous regulator of cardiovascular health. It is endogenously produced through the catalytic activities of three enzymes: cystathionine gamma lyase (CGL), cystathionine beta synthase, and 3-mercaptopyruvate sulphur transferase. Although all three enzymes are found in the cardiovascular system, CGL is thought to produce the majority of its endogenous H2S production.1 Hence, CGL is thought to be crucial in maintenance of cardiovascular function and health.
