Postgraduate nursing students' experiences in providing frontline and backstage care during the Covid-19 pandemic: A qualitative study

•Postgraduate nursing students at the frontline during the pandemic experienced significant fear and moral distress.•They were able to identify opportunities to mobilise advanced nursing practice competencies.•The suspension of courses raised concerns about the development of their competencies and personal implications.
