Hyperspectral underwater light field sensing onboard BGC-Argo Floats
OCEANS 2021: San Diego – Porto(2021)
Abstract
Multispectral radiometric measurement based on BGC-Argo has demonstrated the potential of Argo network to generate sustained high data quality. Motivated by the positive attitude of BGC-Argo community towards adopting and investigating new technologies, we have taken the opportunity to implement hyperspectral radiometer technology within the regular BGC-Argo program. First hyperspectral profiles acquired in the Mediterranean and Baltic Seas are displayed. Data were processed and quality-controlled following the BGC-Argo procedures. In-water optic parameters were derived from the light field measurements, specifically the diffuse attenuation coefficient that was investigated in the entire visible spectrum.
