摘要
Patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures assessing health-related quality of life (HRQoL) should assess concepts using language which is inclusive of all individuals who may complete it. Marginalised groups, such as the LGBTQ+ community, are often not considered in PRO development and selection, which can impact the validity of PRO measures in these populations. The objective of this conceptual piece is to evoke discussion on how best to incorporate LGBTQ+ perspectives into measures, the implications of excluding such perspectives, and challenges to engaging the LGBTQ+ community in HRQoL research.
