Terrestrial records of the early Albian Ocean Anoxic Event: Evidence from the Fuxin lacustrine basin, NE China

•Terrestrial records of the early Albian OAE1b are recognized in a lacustrine basin.•Three negative δ13Corg excursions corresponding to high TOC coincide with the OAE1b.•Organic matter of the early Albian OAE1b was from mixed terrestrial sources.•A trend of increasing pCO2 during the Kilian sub-event is related to the Kerguelen LIP.•Increased pCO2 and chemical weathering under warm and humid conditions induced anoxia in lakes.
