摘要
In this paper, a new technique of flexible frequency selective surface FSS radome design based on fluidic metal was presented. Used square loop gap structure as FSS units prototype, polystyrene film as dielectric substrate, silica gel as encapsulation material, and EGaIn printed on substrate as FSS metal layer, a flexible FSS radome was fabricated by liquid metal printing technique. The measured transmission results through dielectric lens antenna together with Agilent N5230A Network Analyzer showed that the S-21 parameter was greater than -1 dB between the frequency of 6 GHz and 8 GHz. Meanwhile, as for the S-21 values at harmonic frequency of 70.8 GHz, the measured datum was 0.4 dB less than the simulated result. The measured results verified the effectiveness of the designed flexible frequency selective surface radome using liquid metal printing technique, which can better realize the electromagnetic characteristics of the higher transmission inside the working bands and the deeper cutoff curves.
