摘要

The results for ..pi../sup + -/ + /sup 9/Be elastic scattering at E/sub lab/ = 162 MeV are shown to provide evidence for quadrupole contributions to the elastic scattering of pions. The strong-coupling rotational model is used to relate the measured inelastic scattering cross sections to the elastic scattering cross sections.
