Abstract
We report the results of a search for particles with electric charge /ital Q/=(2/3)/ital e/ produced in /ital e//sup +/e/sup /minus// annihilations at/ital W/=10.5 GeV. The ratio of the cross section for the inclusiveproduction of fractionally charged particles (/ital q/) to the dimuon pointcross section,/ital R//sub /ital q//=/sigma/(e/sup +/e/sup /minus///r arrow/qX)//sigma/(/ital e//sup +/minus///r arrow//mu//sup +//mu//sup /minus//), is found to have an upper limitat a 90%confidence level of 1.0/times/10/sup /minus/4/ for masses less than3.5 GeV//ital c//sup 2/.
