Abstract
With the distance between offshore wind farms and coastline increasing, as one of the important alternatives of traditional AC wind farm, DC wind farm has broad development prospects. However, the DC series-parallel architecture will result in the power abandon, whose ultimate cause is that the operation states of wind turbines are different under different wind speeds. In order to analyze the correlation between wind speed characteristics and the power abandon in offshore wind farms with series-parallel architectures, a detailed analysis is presented in this paper. Moreover, the severity of power abandon is calculated through the case of a real wind farm, which will provide reference for the design and planning of offshore wind farms with series-parallel architectures in the future.
