摘要
AIM: To evaluate the effects of apolipoprotein E (ApoE) gene polymorphism on the plasma lipid level. METHODS: Seventy-two hypertensive patients (male 46, female 26) and 95 healthy controls (male 46, female 49) were examined for their plasma lipid level (TC, TG, HDL-C and LDL-C) and ApoE gene type. RESULTS: The allele frequency distribution was similar between the 2 groups and e3 allele frequency distribution was the highest, which was 80.5% in normal group and 76.8% in hyperlipemia group. e2 and e4 allele frequency distributions were lower than e3. There was no significant difference between different sexes. ApoE gene type was correlated with serum lipid levels. Serum lipid be normal or not, TC and LDL-C level was e2/3e3/3e3/4 and HDL-C was e3/4e3/3e2/3. CONCLUSION: ApoE gene polymorphism is significantly correlated with serum lipid level.
