Abstract
Prosthetic voice restoration with tracheoesophageal puncture has become the preferred method of speech rehabilitation of laryngectomized patients. The endoscopic technique for insertion of voice prosthesis, which has been reported by Singer and Blom, might encounter some surgical problems in special cases due to patients having difficulty in stretching their neck or the reconstruction with a free jejunal graft. An easy and safe method is described for the insertion of a Provox2® voice prosthesis using a percutaneous trans gastro (PTEG) tube equipped with a rupture free balloon. This method has made it possible to perform insertion of Provox2® under local anesthesia in almost all cases.
