Semi-Fragile Watermarking Scheme for Image Authentication

A semi-fragile watermarking scheme for image authentication is proposed in this paper. Taking a binary pattern image as the watermark, The scheme embeds the watermark into DCT coefficients of each 8*8 pixels size block of the host image by using the technique of the HVS. The extractor can not only extract the watermark signal but also locate the possible region which is balefully modified for the watermarked image. The experimental results demonstrate our algorithm is robust against JPEG compression and excellent for detecting the modified region.
