Effect of UO_2~(2+) on Growth and Activity of Thiobacillus Ferrooxdidans

Effects of UO_2~(2+)on growth and activity of thiobacillus ferrooxidans(T,f)at the condations of 30℃and pH 2.0 were studied.The experimental results show that UO_2~(2+)affects obviously growth and activity of T.f.This meant that lag phase and logarithmic phase of T.f were longer and Fe~(2+) oxidation rate decreased in Leathen culture medium which UO_2(2+)concentration is 0.4～1.2 g/L and T.f could tolerate higher concentration of UO_2~(2+)after long perid of adaptation by repeated subculturing in the Leathen culture medium.
