Calculation of motion and loads for an FPSO in waves

Based on the parameters of design wave, which are predicted through linearization Weibull probability density function, motion with 6-degree of freedom and hydrodynamic loads on hull surface for a floating production storage and offloading(FPSO) vessel were determined by using the approach of source-sink distribution with 3-dimension in this paper. The computational result can be applied as input data for the optimization of ship hull in sea-keeping and for the analysis of structural strength and fatigue by finite element method(FEM) computer code as well as for the design of mooring system.
