Indicators of Hydrothermal Sedimentation in Jimo Hot Spring Basin in Qingdao and Its Indicative Significance

Abstract
Based on the XRD data of the field samples, the following hydrothermal sedimentation indicators are discovered: silicious sediment, rock salt, gypsum and natural sulphur. From the spatial distribution and the variations in the contents of the indicators, the indicative signficance of the indicators in geothermal sedimentation id found to be as follows: (1) The indications are the basis of identitying the Quaternary sediment. (2) They are the indicators of the temperature of geothermal reservairs. (3) The spatial variations of the contents of the indicators can be utilized as a guide in locating geoghermal centers and the exploitation of geothermal resources. (4) They serve as signs for searching blind underground hot springs and studying paleogeothermal activities. (5) The geothermal sedimentaton of the hot springs is of great value for the study of contemporary sea bottom thermal water sedimentation and the simulation of mineralization environments.
