Abstract
Objective To evaluate the value of OCT in the early diagnosis of macular micropathology with low visual acuity eyes after cataract phacoemulsification. Methods Thirty-one eyes of thirty-one cases with low visual acuity and without complications of ocular anterior segment and optical pathway, which were suspected macular micropathology 3 days after cataract phacoemulsification, were examined with OCT and analysed. Results OCT showed 16 eyes with macular edema and 7 eyes of them combined with epimacular membrane formation,13 eyes with the lamellar macular hole and 2 eyes with retinoschisis. Conclusion The macular micropat-hology was the main factor in infecting visual functions after cataract phacoemulsification.OCT is a new technique of retinal tomography with sensitive resolving power. It is very valuable in the early diagnosis of macular micropathology with low visual acuity,follow-up and futher treatment after cataract phacoemulsification.
