The Effect of Family Intervention on Quality of Life and the Social Function of Schizophrenia Patients

[Objective]To explore the effect of family intervention on quality of life and the social function of the schizophrenia patients.[Methods]Sixty schizophrenia patients,whose quality of life and the social function fell obviously,were subjected to one year family education and family intervention.All the participants were assessed by using Quality of Life scale(QOL),The Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale(BPRS) and Social Disability Screening Schedule(SDSS) before and after the intervention.[Results]After one year,except the environment factor and the spiritual belief factor,life quality and social function of the patients were improved obviously(P0.05 or P0.01).[Conclusion]family intervention can improve the quality of life and social function and decrease the recurrence rate to those patients whose viability and social function drop.
