The distribution of fimA virulence genotypes of Porphyromonas gingivalis in Uygur chronic periodontitis

Objective: To investigate the distribution of fimA virulence genotype of Porphyromonas gingivalis in Uygur chronic periodontitis patients. Methods:Subgingival plaque samples were collected from 52 Uygur chronic periodontitis patients. DNA of plaque was extracted by UNIQ-10 Bacteria kit and Chelex-100 assay. The obtained DNA was used as template to detected Porphyromonas gingivalis by 16SrRNA PCR analysis. Moreover, prevalence of subtype of fimA virulence genotypes Ⅱand Ⅳ was assessed by PCR methods among the P.gingivalis positive patients. Results:P.gingivalis was found in 76.9% patients and related with the depth of periodontal pocket. Furthermore, the incidences of two virulence genotypes among P.gingivalis positive patients were as follows: fimA type Ⅱ37.5%; fimA type Ⅳ 22.5%. Conclusion: P.gingivalis with fimA virulence genotypes were detected in subgingival plaque sample from Uygur Chronic periodontitis.
