The antibiotics function of the chitosan combined agent on the feed of poultry

In a pilot hennery,chitosan combined agent was used and tested for its function of the growthpromotion and antibiosis on poultry in our present study. The experiment was designed as six groups with 100 chickens for each, in which four were used the combined agent of chitosan with difference in concentrations;two of them were designed as controls, a blank control and an antibiotics(enterogastrone) control, respectively. The mortality and growthpromotion rate were employed as the endpoints, and the experiment was conducted with a period of 60 days. Results indicated that combined agent of chitosan has a significant effect in enhancement of immunotherapy on chickens, and has an equal or higher ability against disease and growthpromotion for the test species than antibiotics(enterogastroneamikacin sulfate soluble powder)(P0.01). In addition, it could reduce the amount of feedstuff used. Therefore,chitosan could replace the antibiotics and do not produce any residues in the body of the poultry.
