Abstract
Objective To investigate the infectiousness of the female HBV carriers,and to help doctors direct the female HBV carriers to feed their infants.Methods Forty female HBV carriers and their infants was recruited,thirty-eight healthy females and their infants was studyed as control.Peripheral blood from all the females and infants was col-lected,milk from all the females was also collected.HBsAg and HBV DNA in the peripheral blood were measured by ELISA and nuorescent quantitative PCR respectively,and HBV DNA was measured by nuorescent quantitative PCR.Results In the peripheral blood from the infants whose mothers were HBV carriers,the positive rate of HBV DNA was 80.0%(64/80),and the positive rate of HBsAg was 78.8%(63/80).But in the peripheral blood from the infants whose mothers were healthy,the positive rate of HBV DNA was 2.6%(2/76),and HBsAg was not detected.Conclusion The female HBV carriers in lactation were potentially infectious to their infants.
