Study on quadrileaflet stentless mitralva valve replacement in sheeps

[Objective] To establish a model of quadrileaflet stentless mitral valvereplacement. [Methods] Light thoracotomy was performed on eight adult sheeps. Eeight adult sheeps underwent quadrileaflet stentless mitral valve replacement with middle low temperature cardiopulmonary bypass and mild hypothermia. Artificial chordaes and corresponding papillary muscles were sewed together through mitral valve orifice. [Resules] The postoperative courses of all anomals were smooth and uneventful. Highquality living and longterm survival were obtained. [Conclusion] Quadrileaflet stentless mitral valve replacement through mitral valveorifice is an effective operation. This modified model can be used in study on quadrileaflet stentless mitral valve.
