Abstract
Objective:To observe the clinical effect of treating AECOPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at the stage of acute exacerbation) with the support of glutamine as nutrition supplements. Methods:Forty patients with acute exacerbation of AECOPD were randomly divided into 2 groups:glutamine group (20 cases) and control group (20 cases). All the cases were treated for 2 weeks with routine anti-inflammatory spasmolytic and anti-asthmatic drugs. The cases in glutamine group were administrated with additional oral glutamine nutrition supplements. The nutritional, immunal and respiratory functions were measured before and after treating. Results and Conclusions:Obvious improvements were observed in the glutamine group.Glutamine nutrition was proved to be reliable in AECOPD supplements therapy.
