Abstract
Objective To detect the serum level of uric acid in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS). MethodsSerum uric acid was measured in 80 patients with ACS and 64 healthy subjects. Results The serum uric acid in ACS patients was significantly higher than that of the control group(t=2.99,P0.05).This difference was significant both between male patients and male controls(t=2.82,P0.01),and between female patients and female controls(t=2.15,P0.05). ConclusionHigh concentration of serum uric acid is closely associated with ACS,particularly in male.Serum uric acid could be used as a predictor of ACS.
