Observation on risk of overlapping infection by HBV and HCV

Objective To compare the infection rate of hepatitis B in healthy population and patients with hepatitis C virus infection in order to study the overlapping infection rate of hepatitis C virus(HCV) and hepatitis B virus(HBV).Methods The infection rate of HBV in these two groups was examined by using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results Examination of HBV infection rate was 9.76%,HCV infection in patients with HBV infection rate was 32.7%,the difference between the two groups was significant(P0.05).Conclusion In HCV-infected patients,the probability of overlapping infection of HBV is very high,and anti-HCV positive patients should pay attention to alert superinfection..
