Influence of a two-year intensified multifactorial intervention on UACR in type 2 diabetic patients

Objective To analyze the influence of a two-year intensified multifactorial intervention on urinary a lbumin to creatinine ratio(UACR)in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods One hundred and two T2DM patients had been under intensive medical control for blood glucose,blood pressure and lipid profiles for 2 years.Eighty-five patients completed the procedure and received laboratory tests after 2 years treatment.Results After intensive treatment,UACR of the participants decreased significantly[(31±25)mg/g vs(44±46)mg/g,P0.05];The change of UACR was correlated with the changes of HbA1c and SBP(r=0.507 and 0.358,respectively,P0.05).Conclusion The intensive control of blood glucose,pressure and lipid profiles decreased UACR and reduced the risk of complications in patients with T2DM.
