Perioperative nursing of children undergoing palatal fistula repair operation with the tongue flap

This paper summarizes the perioperative nursing of 5 children undergoing palatal fistula repair operation with the tongue flap.The key points in perioperative nursing were preoperative psychological care and well preparation of special instruments and materials,perfected intraoperative care,postoperative airway management,diet guidance,close observation of blood supply of the tongue flap,prevention and treatment of postoperative complications,blood supply training before cutting off the flap and functional training of the tongue.All the children were discharged with stage-I recovery.
