An Efficient and General Synthesis of Pyrroles.

A facile synthesis of variously substituted pyrroles is achieved by 5-endo-dig cyclization of 3-alkynyl-hydroxyalkanamine derivatives and subsequent in situ dehydration of the resulting hydroxy-dihydropyrroles.
