Effect of XueFuZhuYu Decoction on MMP-2 and TIMP-1 Expression of Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells from Rats

Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of XueFuZhuYu Decoction on migration and invasion of vascular smooth muscle cells from rats and its mechanism. Methods Cell migration was determine by wound healing assay,and invasion was determined by transwell assay.mRNA expression of MMP-2 and TIMP-1 was detected by RT-PCR analysis. Results Compared with blank group,both high and middle dose groups could inhibit migration and invasion,and mRNA expression of MMP-2 was down-regulated,meanwhile mRNA expression of TIMP-1 was up-regulated. Conclusion Serum containing XueFuZhuYu Decoction can inhibit the migration and invasion of vascucar smooth muscle cells and the mechanism is related with mRNA expression of MMP-2 and TIMP-1.
