The relationships between p16~(INK4a),FGF-2 a,D2-40 expression and invasion or metastasis of cervical carcinoma

Objective To investigate the expression of the p16INK4a,the fibroblast growth factor 2(FGF-2),D2-40 in CIN3,microinvasive carcinoma and invasive carcinoma of cervix,and to examine the relationship between the expression of them and the cervical carcinoma invasion or lymph node metastasis.Met-hods Immunohistochemistry method was used to examine the expressions of p16INK4a,FGF-2 and D2-40 in 35 cases of CIN3,13 cases of microinvasive carcinoma and 62 cases of invasive carcinoma of cervix.Res-ults Over expression of the p16INK4a protein was significantly higher in microinvasive carcinoma than that in CIN3(P0.01).The positive rates of FGF-2 in CIN3,microinvasive carcinoma and invasive spuamous cell carcinoma of cervix were 51.43%,53.85%,76.92%,respectively(P0.05);The expression strength of FGF-2 was correlated significantly with the extent and development of cervical lesion(P0.01).The positive strength of p16INK4a and FGF-2 was significant correlation with lymph node metastasis in cervical carcinoma(P0.01 or P0.05),the expression of FGF-2 was correlated significantly with depth of stroma infiltration,while no significant association was found with tumor size,histological types and clinical stage.The expression of D2-40 was no correlation with any clinical characteristic.The expression of p16INK4a,FGF-2 and D2-40 was no significant association compared with each group(P0.05).Conclusion Abnormal expression of p16INK4a may be helpful to the diagnosis of microinvasive carcinoma,the positive strength of p16INK4a was significant correlated with lymph node metastasis;To examine the expression of FGF-2 in cervical biopsy tissue may be taken as an important clinical reference value for the evaluation of the development of cervical lesions,and the invasion and metastasis of cervical carcinoma.
