Effect of extracting methods on the extraction efficiency of PAHs collected from the Yangtze estuarine and coastal areas

The sediment samples collected from Yangtze estuarine and coastal areas were extracted by Soxhlet extracting method and accelerated solvent extraction method.The extracted liquids were determined by GC/MS.The effect of extraction method and solvent on the concentration,distribution and types of extracted PAHs were analyzed.The results showed that the highest concentration of PAHs was found at Wusongkou;Soxhlet extracting method was better than accelerated solvent extraction method in the extraction efficiency;mixed solvent presented better performance than single solvent extraction in PAHs extraction.
