Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of atorvastatin on plasma level of interleukin-6(IL-6) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)in patients with unstable angina pectoris(UAP).Methods The level of plasma IL-6 and hs-CRP in 60 UAP patients before and after atorvastatin oral administration for 4 weeks were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and turbidmetric immuno assay. Results The level of plasma IL-6 and hs-CRP in UAP patients group were increased markedly(21.88±6.35)pg/L,(2.35±0.33)μg/L),compared with those in the healthy subjects as control group(15.92±5.15)pg/L,(1.38±0.30)μg/L)(P0.01).A significant decreased of plasma IL-6 and hs-CRP level were observed after taking atorvastatin for 4 weeks(P0.01).Conclusion Atorvastatin could effectively decrease the level of plasma IL-6,hsCRP and improve the prognosis of the patients with UAP.
