Abstract
LEF-1 is an important regulator in Wnt signaling pathway,its abnormal expression plays a key role in the cell proliferation and apoptosis,especially for the tumor cells.As a key regulator of Wnt signaling pathway,the specific conformation assembled by LEF-1 and T cell receptor α(TCRα) enhancer regulates gene expression with other factors together.Additionally,LEF-1 is a multi-promoter driving gene and encodes a full-length form of the LEF-1 involving in oncogenesis and a truncated form of the LEF-1 regulating Wnt signaling pathway negatively.Reported data shows that the oncogenesis and tumor development are closely associated with the expression level change of LEF / TCF subtypes.We review the recent advances about LEF-1 as a regulator in Wnt pathway and its relationship with oncogenesis and progression of tumors in this paper.
