Abstract
Objective To evaluate the prognostic factors in patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer(SCLC).Methods Retrospective study was conducted including a total of 98 patients with extensive-stage SCLC.The median survival time and overall survival rate were observed. Results The overall 1-,2-and 3-year survival rates were 45.38%,15.15% and 8.84%,respectively.The median survival time was 11.24 months.One-way analysis of variance showed that liver metastasis, high level of lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),not accepting thoracic radiotherapy, pleural effusion, fewer chemotherapy cycles, extrathoracic metastasis, worse patients' performance status and more metastases were related to shorter survival time. The multivariate analysis indicated that liver metastasis, fewer chemotherapy cycles, high level of lactate dehydrogenase, worse performance status were closely related to poorer prognosis. Conclusion The patients without liver metastasis, received more than 4 cycles, with normal LDH level and diagnosed as PS score 0-1 have longer survival time.
