Detection and significance of TSLP,IL-25 levels in the sputum of asthmatic patients

Objective To investigate the roles of thymic stromal lymphopoietin(TSLP),interleukin(IL)-25 in the occurrence of bronchial asthma.Methods Patients with asthma(asthma group) in exacerbation and chronic stage(15 cases in each) and 15 healthy controls(control group) were involved,then the induced sputum were collected by ultrasonic atomizing inhalation of 4% hypertonic saline solution,TSLP and IL-25 in which were examined by ELISA and correlations between the two indexes were analyzed.Results Levels of TSLP and IL-25 in asthma group were significantly higher than those in the control group,and which in the exacerbation were obviously higher than those in the chronic stage(P0.05).Conclusion TSLP and IL-25 may play important roles in the occurrence and development of asthma,and is likely to be a potentialtarget for the treatment of asthma.
